COLUMBIA - Missouri baseball and softball lost Sunday to drop both of their respective series.

Mizzou softball (18-13, 1-4 SEC) fell to No. 7 Texas A&M, 7-3, in College Station while Mizzou baseball (21-3, 4-2 SEC) lost to Arkansas, 9-8, in Columbia.

Mizzou softball earned an early 3-1 lead against Texas A&M, using RBI singles from senior Natalie Flemming and sophomore Rylee Pierce. The Aggies were forced to pull starter Trinity Harrington after allowing eight hits in just one inning pitched.

Texas A&M (28-3, 7-2 SEC) responded by scoring in all of the first five innings, including a three-run third, to take a 7-3 advantage that would hold as the final score.

The Mizzou lead was 3-2 in the third inning with two outs on Texas A&M batters, but Aggie freshman Sarah Hudek hit a three-run home run to gain a 5-3 advantage.

The Tigers totaled 12 hits, but stranded a season high 11 runners on base.

Mizzou baseball also earned an early lead against Arkansas following a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to the warning track in the first inning from sophomore Brian Sharp to make it 1-0.

Arkansas (20-5, 5-1 SEC) responded in the top of the second with a lead-off homer from freshman Dominic Fletcher. The Razorbacks added two more runs on three hits before junior Tiger starting pitcher Andy Toelken was pulled without recording an out in the second.

Toelken received his first loss of the season.

Arkansas added four runs in the top of the fourth to take a 7-1 advantage following a Mizzou error with two outs and highlighted by a three-run homer from sophomore catcher Grant Koch.

Four of the Razorback runs followed errors and were unearned.

Arkansas would add its third and final homer of the game in the fifth inning off the bat of junior Carson Shaddy.

The Tigers trailed 9-3 in the eighth inning, but rallied to score four in the bottom of the frame. Two runs scored on a wild pitch that struck out Kameron Misner and got lost behind home plate.

Mizzou continued to rally in the ninth, scoring once more, with two outs, on a RBI single from sophomore Ian Nelson. However, sophomore Connor Brumfield struck out looking with the tying run on second base as Arkansas escaped with the win.

Mizzou softball is back in action Wednesday for a double-header at Wichita State.

Mizzou baseball will look to respond to its first series loss of the season Tuesday when the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks come to Columbia.
