COLUMBIA - Missouri baseball defeated Arkansas 7-2 Saturday to get back to winning ways.

Arkansas (19-5, 4-1 SEC) ended Mizzou's nation-long 20-game winning streak Friday night.

The Tigers (21-2, 4-1) powered past the Razorbacks with a six-run sixth inning, handing Arkansas starting pitcher Trevor Stephan his first loss of the season.

Mizzou starting pitcher, sophomore Michael Plassmeyer, allowed one run in five innings. The lone run he surrendered came from a solo home run off the bat of Razorback junior Chad Spanberger.

The score was tied 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning until junior Robbie Glendinning hit a two-run homer to left filed. The next batter, sophomore Brian Sharp, followed that with a home run of his own to extend the lead to 4-1.

Later in the bottom of the sixth still, junior catcher Nelson Mompierre hit the third home run of the frame with a man on base to make the Tiger lead 6-1.

Mizzou would add one more in the inning before Arkansas could escape down 7-1.

Arkansas would score once more in the eighth, but Mizzou reliever T.J. Sikkema shut them down before it became trouble.

Sikkema earned his fifth win of the season in relief, allowing the one run in four innings.

The series will be decided Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Andy Toelken will take the hill for Mizzou.
