KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Missouri Tigers lost to the Tennessee Volunteers today 72-45 to finish regular season play. The Tigers fell to 21-10 overall and 9-9 in SEC play.
Jordan Clarkson scored 13 points to lead the Tigers on offense. Wes Clark and Jabari Brown each contributed eight points of their own. Brown scored one field goal in 10 attempts, with the one successful attempt coming with less than two minutes left in the second half.
Tennessee jumped ahead of the Tigers early with help from Antonio Barton and Jarnell Stokes, who scored 16 and 15 points, respectively. Jordan McRae scored 11 points, all from inside the paint.
With the loss, the Tigers lose more leverage in their argument to enter the NCAA tournament this month. Conversely, the Volunteers carry a four-game winning streak into the SEC tournament.
The Tigers will head to Atlanta next week for the SEC Men's Basketball Tournament. Their first game will be on Thursday at the Georgia Dome.
