Missouri basketball's winning streak ends with loss to Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas - The Missouri men's basketball team's first conference winning streak of the Kim Anderson era ended at two on Saturday. The Tigers fell to Arkansas in Fayetteville, 84-72.
Tiger senior Ryan Rosburg had a streak of his own broken Saturday night. After scoring at least 17 points in the last four games, early foul trouble led to just 11 points for Rosburg in 17 minutes played.
Missouri forward Kevin Puryear stepped into Rosburg's place as leading scorer for Missouri. The freshman set a new career-high with 23 points.
Rosburg got help on the boards as well. Sophomore guard Namon Wright had 12 rebounds and completed the double-double with 12 points.
Struggles from behind the arc plagued the Tigers in this one, as Missouri went 6-for-23 from three.
Arkansas also held a major advantage in guard play. Junior guard Dusty Hannahs led the Razorbacks with 22 points, and senior guard Jabril Durham had a career-high 17.
Junior forward Moses Kingsley added a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards for the Razorbacks.
With the loss, Missouri falls to 10-17 on the season. The Tigers will end their road trip Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 8:00 p.m., when they take on Ole Miss in Oxford.
