Missouri Department of Natural Resources issues boil order
BOONE COUNTY — The Missouri Department of Natural Resources issued a mandatory boil order Wednesday for all Boone County customers of Kuhle H20.
The department issued the order after recent samples of public water system MO3036153 tested positive for total coliform bacteria, which suggests that intestinal parasites and pathogens may be present in the water supply. Low pressure is also an issue.
The order applies to approximately 400 people located north of West Mauller Road and bordered by North Wade School Road and North Moberly Drive.
Until the boil order is lifted, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources recommends the following:
- Boil water for five minutes prior to consumption
- Disinfect dishes by immersing them for at least on minute in water that has been boiled and contains one teaspoon of unscented bleach per gallon of water
- Throw away all ice cubes
These precautions only apply to water meant to be consumed and not for bath water.
