Missouri Farm Bureau Gives Blunt Support
JEFFERSON CITY - Republican Senate candidate Roy Blunt showed up in Jefferson City today to pick up an endorsement that didn't come as a surprise to anyone. The Missouri Farm Bureau gave Blunt its support in his race against Democrat Robin Carnahan. The trustees of the mostly-conservative Farm Bureau kept with its record of usually endorsing Republicans and voted to back Blunt.
Farm Bureau President, Charles Kruse, introduced Blunt to a crowd of more than 200 Missouri Farmers. The Congressman spoke for about 15 minutes before fielding questions from the crowd. Trustees then broke off into districts to make their decision. Blunt received 98% of the vote from trustees. Many people said the endorsement is largely based on Blunt's support of agriculture in Washington.
The Farm Bureau also invited Carnahan to the event, but she did not attend.
