Missouri Football Expecting Many Changes
COLUMBIA - The SEC unveiled Missouri football's 2012 conference opponents Wednesday, and fans will also see two new uniforms hit Faurot Field next season.
Nike is redesigning Missouri's uniforms for next year and could stray from the traditional "M". Nike designed the current uniforms for the team and made special "Pro Combat" uniforms for the 2009 Missouri-Kansas game. Fans could see a preview of the uniforms as early as April.
Administrators are also working on laying artificial turf at the stadium for next season. Head coach Gary Pinkel told the Columbia Tribune administrators are already looking at various possible products for next year.
Officials are working on expanding the stadium seating, but do not plan on having it ready for next year. Officials are looking to add more seats on the stadium's east side. The project calls for a projected $30 to $40 million dollars. Memorial Stadium's capacity of 71,004 ranks 10th among 14 SEC schools.
Missouri will open conference play September 8th at home against Georgia. The Tigers also play Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Kentucky at home. South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M will be away. There are four open spots for three non-conference opponents and a bye week. The full schedule can be found here.
