Missouri Has New Online Hunting and Fishing Permits
JEFFERSON CITY - Most Missouri hunting and fishing permits will be available to purchase and print over the Internet starting in March. The state Department of Conservation says its new system, called e-Permits, will allow people to buy permits online and print them on regular computer printers, making them immediately available from home.
All sport-fishing, hunting and trapping permits will be available through e-Permits. Missourians have been able to buy permits online since 2002. But under the old system, people received only a confirmation notice, which they had to use while waiting to receive their actual permits through the mail. That sometimes took up to two weeks.
When fully implemented, the department expects e-Permits will reduce the cost of issuing permits by about $500,000 annually.
