Missouri Highway Patrol Advises Safe Driving on New Year's
JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri Highway Patrol Troop F is advising safe travel during the New Year's holiday. Troop F will have every available trooper on the roads during the holiday.
"What we do is we kind of concentrate on areas where we've had a lot of DWI crashes in the past," said Sgt. Paul Reinsch, public information officer for the Missouri Highway Patrol.
With many people driving thoughout the 13 counties that the troop oversees for the holiday, the potential for traffic accidents is increased. DWIs are also more common around New Year's.
Reinsch advises that as people head out for New Year's Eve, they plan their trip in advance. And if they will be drinking they should stay at their location or use a designated driver.
