Missouri Home Sales On the Rise
In Jefferson City, a home stays on the market for an average of 76 days before it's ever sold. A study shows home sales in the country dropped seven percent this year, but in Jefferson City the housing market isn't so bad.
"Existing home real estate sales are doing quite well and have been for the last two years, but we really haven't seen our market increase in the last two years in Jefferson City. Columbia has had a booming market, Lake of the Ozarks had a booming market. Jefferson City has had a stable market," explained Sharon Keating, a Jefferson City realtor.
The price range for most homes in Jefferson City is between $100,000 and $140,000. The median price on the current market is $115,000. Statistics shows homes are sold for 93% of the listed price. A realtor said Jefferson City is now a buyer's market. There are 200 more homes for sale than this time last year.
