Missouri man accused in deadly hit-and-run wreck in custody
CLAYTON (AP) — St. Louis County police say a man accused of causing a fatal hit-and-run wreck last month during a police chase is in custody.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 24-year-old Mikal Hamilton was arrested Friday on March 1 charges of involuntary manslaughter and leaving a crash scene. He's jailed on $100,000 bond.
Velda City police say they tried to stop a Chevrolet Monte Carlo on Feb. 26 when the car sped away and ran a red light at the intersection, fatally hitting 23-year-old Keisha Redding of St. Louis.
The car later was found abandoned in St. Louis.
Online court records do not show whether Hamilton has an attorney.
