Missouri man pleads guilty to Illinois bank holdup
EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) - A Missouri man faced up to two decades in federal prison Wednesday after he admitted in court that he robbed a southern Illinois bank.
38-year-old Jonathon Ford of Fenton, Missouri, pleaded guilty Tuesday in East St. Louis to a felony count of bank robbery.
Authorities said Ford used a BB gun in robbing a Regions Bank branch in Smithton on March 19. Ford was arrested a short time later, and the nearly $3,900 taken during the heist was recovered.
Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 29.
