COLUMBIA -- RCA Recording Artist and Mid-Missouri native Sara Evans will sing the National Anthem before Mizzou's game against Alabama on October 13 at Faurot Field.

One of the most successful female artists of her generation, Evans was born in Boonville, Missouri and was raised near New Franklin, Missouri. She began singing country music with her family's band when she was five-years-old and by the age of 16, Evans was singing regularly at a club in Columbia. Evans is now married to former Alabama quarterback Jay Barker.

Evans has earned numerous accolades, including the R&R's Female Vocalist of the Year, Academy of Country Music Awards Top Female Vocalist and the Country Music Association's Video of the Year for "Born to Fly." Her record sales have topped five million and she has been named one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People.

The Missouri-Alabama game will kickoff at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and air nationally on CBS.
