OVERLAND PARK, KS -- The Missouri Rattlers - Cowan fastpitch team won the 16A USSSA World Series on Sunday. The team went undefeated in the week long tournament until the championship game and lost to the Minnesota Stars 4-6, forcing a back-to-back deciding championship game.

The Missouri Rattlers won the championship 5-4 and were named World Series Champions. The select team is made up of local area high school athletes from Hickman, Rock Bridge, Ashland, Highland, Sweet Springs and Staley High School. Taylor Phillips (Ashland HS) won Outstanding World Series Pitcher and Sara Harvey (Staley HS) won World Series MVP. This team is coached by Kathy Cowan and Taylor Cowan (Hickman pitcher alumni)
