JEFFERSON CITY - As the election day nears, Missouri's Republican Senate candidates try to distinguish themselves from each other and from incumbent Democrat Claire McCaskill.
It turns out they all have something in common, however.
McCaskill, Sarah Steelman, John Brunner and Todd Akin have all paid late penalties for not paying their property taxes on time.
Additionally, McCaskill had to pay $320,000 in late fees for taxes just last year.
Steelman, Brunner and Akin are vying for the Republican nomination in an August 7 primary.
