ST. LOUIS - The first day to enroll in the federal government's new health insurance program is just around the corner. But the wait continues for Missouri residents seeking details on premium costs, coverage levels and other specifics.
Enrollment in the new online insurance marketplace begins nationwide on Oct. 1; coverage starts as soon as Jan. 1. Seventeen other states have released rate information and other details, including the impact of tax credits to help defray the costs for low-income residents.
Missouri's insurance exchange will be operated by the federal government. State lawmakers and then voters rejected a state-run system.
Prospective purchasers who attended a recent information session at the St. Louis Public Library said they are having trouble making decisions without more information.
