COLUMBIA — Missouri Softball (26-7, 11-6 SEC) stayed one spot out of the Top-10 of the polls, coming in at No. 11 in the NFCA Division I Top 25 poll announced Tuesday.
The Tigers are coming off a 2-1 series win over then-No. 11 ranked LSU April 19-21. The wins came with a 6-1 win Friday and a 3-2 win Sunday. Senior Nicole Hudson went 6-for-9 in the series with two home runs Sunday.
Senior pitcher Chelsea Thomas earned Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week for her performance against LSU. In the Friday and Sunday wins, Thomas struck out 23 batters for a rate of 1.64 strikeouts per inning.
Missouri was joined in the poll by six other SEC schools: No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Tennessee, No. 4 Alabama, No. 12 LSU, No. 15 Texas A&M and No. 19 Kentucky.
The Tigers host Western Kentucky in a double-header Wednesday, game times set for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Missouri will then head to No. 19 Kentucky to play the Wildcats in a three-game match up. Kentucky is ranked No. 19 in the nation with a record of 34-14 overall with 10-8 in the SEC.
