Missouri Sport Shooting Association Holds Annual Gun Rights Rally
JEFFERSON CITY - Gun rights supporters filled the State Capitol Wednesday to rally support from state politicians. The Missouri Sport Shooting Association held the event along with other pro-second amendment organizations.
Each year, the rally is held to bring organizations and the public together with state politicians to declare common ground on second amendment issues. Several state senators and representatives made an appearance to show their support, including State Representative Todd Richardson, State Representative Don Philips, State Senator Brian Nieves, and many others.
The president of the Western Missouri Shooters Alliance, Sheila Stokes-Begley, was also in attendance. Stokes-Begley said, "We need people to come and learn and celebrate the process. Good legislation starts at the ballot box." She said the more people who take off work and show up for the event, the more state politicians are willing to support the issues.
