Missouri State University Sees Increased Enrollment
SPRINGFIELD (AP) - Enrollment is up at Missouri State University.
The university said Monday that the fall semester opened with 19,415 students at the Springfield campus, a 3.1 percent increase over the first day of the 2012-2013 school year. Enrollment at the West Plains campus is up 1.3 percent to 1,920.
If the numbers hold it will be record enrollment. Official census is taken on the 20th day of classes.
The number of first-time freshmen is up 8.5 percent over last year - including a 36.9 percent jump in out-of-state freshmen.
Missouri State has increased enrollment in 15 of the previous 17 years.
