Missouri Students Improving on College Credit Exams
JEFFERSON CITY - The percentage of Missouri high school students scoring well on Advanced Placement exams has risen slightly.
The state Department of Elementary and Secondary Educations says about 24,800 Advanced Placement tests were taken by students during the 2011-2012 school year. The test is scored on a scale of zero to five, with scores of three and above typically qualifying students for college credit.
The department says about 15,600 tests registered scores of three or above last year. That means students got good scores on 63 percent of the tests -- up about one percentage point from the previous year.
