Missouri to Receive Flood Recovery Grant
JEFFERSON CITY (AP) - Federal labor officials are giving Missouri grant money to offer jobs to people affected by this summer's flooding in northwestern Missouri. The U.S. Department of Labor said Monday that Missouri would get $1.1 million immediately to offer temporary jobs to assist with the cleanup and recovery.
Missouri can get up to $2.3 million if more money is needed. Flooding on the Missouri River lasted much of the summer and damaged crops, closed roads and forced people to leave their homes.
