Missouri Valley Men's Soccer Drops Road Match to Lindenwood

MARSHALL, MO -- The Missouri Valley Viking men's soccer team traveled to former conference rival and current NCAA Division II member Lindenwood University in St Charles on Tuesday evening.

The Vikings hung tough with Lindenwood, out-shooting their opponents in the first half, and going into the halftime break tied at 0-0. Lindenwood would come out strong in the second half, scoring in the 55th and 61st minutes to take down the Vikings 2-0.

Junior Keeper Josh Wells (Kent, England) was able to come up with six saves in the game, and Freshman Midfielder Raul Beneit (Cadiz, Spain) had two shots on goal to lead MVC Tuesday night.

The loss drops MVC to 10-4-1 on the season. Up next for the Vikings is a Senior Night doubleheader with the women's soccer team Saturday hosting Avila University. Women's game is set for 5:30 p.m., men's game at 7:30 p.m. at Gregg-Mitchell Field.
