MARSHALL, MO -- The Missouri Valley College football team will host a quarterfinal game in the NAIA Football Championship Series Saturday, November 24 at Gregg-Mitchell Field against Bethel University. The Vikings bring an 11-0 record into the matchup after defeating Ottawa University in the opening round Saturday Nov. 17 56-21. Bethel improved to 9-3 on the season and advanced to the quarterfinal round thanks to a thrilling victory over previously unbeaten Georgetown College 45-44 in the opening round.

The quarterfinal matchup will be the first time Missouri Valley and Bethel have met in the NAIA Football Championship Series. The Vikings are 2-0 under Head Coach Paul Troth in the quarterfinal round. The Vikings last appeared in the quarterfinals in the 2007 NAIA Championship Series. Bethel will be appearing in the quarterfinals for just the second time in school history, and lost its only appearance.

The other three quarterfinal matchups include Southern Oregon at Morningside, Cumberlands at St. Xavier, and St. Francis at Marian. Winner of the four quarterfinal games will play Saturday, December 1 in the NAIA Football Championship Series semifinal round.

Game time is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, November 24 at Gregg-Mitchell Field.
