Missourians Claim Unclaimed Property at State Fair
SEDALIA - Members of Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel's unclaimed property team were at the State Fair Friday to walk people through the process of searching for money that could be due to them. The team is manning a booth in the Matthewson Exhibition Center for the entire fair that will help conduct those searches.
Unclaimed property can be anything from old bank accounts to government refunds. Zweifel said one in ten Missourians has unclaimed property and many do not even know it. At last year's state fair more than 400 account owners found more than $56,000. But you do not need to be at the fair to claim your property. You can go online to showmemoney.com and search for unclaimed property.
The booth will be open daily from 10 am to 4 pm.
