Mizzou Basketball Announces Kadeem Green Will Transfer
COLUMBIA - Mizzou men's basketball head coach Frank Haith announced on Tuesday that redshirt freshman forward Kadeem Green will be leaving the Tigers due to personal reasons. Green averaged 3.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in the Tigers' first 13 games this season while playing almost 11 minutes per game.
"We obviously wish Kadeem nothing but the best as he moves forward with this decision," head coach Frank Haith said. "Kadeem made great strides during his time at Mizzou and we are sad to see him leave the program. This is a decision that did not come easily for Kadeem - he has made a lot of friends and he has really enjoyed his time here at Mizzou. Decisions like this are never easy, but we certainly thank Kadeem for the time that he dedicated to our program and want nothing but the best for him moving forward."
Green missed the 2010-11 season to recover from a torn Achilles tendon he sustained during his high school career.
Missouri now has only seven players on scholarship, with only Ricardo Ratliffe and Steve Moore taller than 6-foot-6. Kim English, a 6-6 shooting guard, could transitioned to forward to provide some necessary depth.
