COLUMBIA - Missouri Golf received another academic accolade on Wednesday when the program was honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America for having a team grade-point average above a 3.50.

Head Coach Mark Leroux's youthful squad finished their 2011 season strong both on and off the course. The team of course finished sixth at the 2011 NCAA Southeast Regional, led by Jace Long (Dixon, Mo.) who won the event and advanced to NCAA Championship play.

In the classroom Missouri joined only Alabama, Brown, Butler, DePaul and Yale as the lone teams to have a cumulative GPA at or above a 3.50 last year.

Mizzou is about to begin an exciting 2011-12 season. A returning All-American, Long is back for Missouri, who returns four of five starters from last year's team, which won a school record four events.
