BIRMINGHAM, AL -- Standout defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson and placekicker Andrew Baggett were named to all-star teams for the Southeastern Conference, as announced this week by the SEC league office.

Richardson, a junior tackle, became Mizzou's first-ever All-SEC designee, as he was named to the 2nd-team for his outstanding play in 2012. Richardson led all SEC interior linemen with 75 tackles (2nd-best on the Tiger squad). The St. Louis, Missouri native tied for the team lead with 10.5 tackles for loss, and was second on the team with his 4.0 quarterback sacks. He added a team-best seven QB hurries, broke up three passes, forced three fumbles, recovered two fumbles and blocked a kick on the season, as well.

Baggett, a redshirt freshman who won the job in the fall, emerged as a dependable and strong-legged scorer for the Tigers, and was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. He ended his first year on the field with a 14-of-20 mark in field goals (with four makes of over 40 yards), and 33-of-37 on extra points. Baggett ranked 5th in the SEC in field goals per game (1.17 avg.) and 15th in the league in scoring (6.25 ppg). He made 11 of his last 13 field goal tries on the season.
