COLUMBIA -- The Mizzou softball team (33-10, 15-8 SEC) has been ranked seventh and eighth in the nation by the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 and USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 polls, respectively, the organizations announced on Tuesday.

The Tigers used an offensive flurry, led by senior Nicole Hudson at the plate and in the circle, to win 12-8 over No. 2 Tennessee on Sunday, May 5 on Mizzou's Senior Day. The victory, in which Hudson recorded a career-best six RBI from two home runs, delivered the series win to the Tigers after the win on Saturday, May 4. The series opener, televised nationally on ESPN, saw senior Chelsea Thomas pitch the 11th no-hitter of her career.

Mizzou is joined in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll by eight fellow SEC schools: No. 3 Florida, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 9 LSU, No. 10 Alabama, No. 15 Kentucky, T21 Arkansas, T21 Texas A&M and No. 23 Georgia. The entire poll can be viewed here.

The Tigers reside in the USA Today/NFCA poll with seven SEC opponents: No. 2 Florida, No.4 Tennessee, No. 9 Alabama, No. 10 LSU, No. 14 Texas A&M, No. 18 Kentucky and No. 25 Arkansas. The entire poll can be viewed here.

No. 7/8 Mizzou is set to face No. T/21/25 Arkansas in the Tigers' first trip to the Southeastern Conference Softball Tournament, hosted by Kentucky at John Cropp Stadium from Wednesday, May 8-Saturday, May 11. The Tigers and Razorbacks will meet in the 3 p.m. (CT) quarterfinal on Thursday, May 9 with live national coverage on ESPNU.
