Mizzou Softball Racks Up Another Win Against Boise State
COLUMBIA - Missouri picked up where they left off in the opening game, scoring three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of the Broncos. Genovese was hit by pitch with one out, setting up Fleming's fourth home run of the year, a shot to deep center field.
With two outs in the inning, Hudson roped a double down the line and was singled in by Randazzo, who blooped a base hit into right field.
Roth's second home run of the season tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the third. The line drive shot over the wall in left drove in Fleming, who doubled to the gap in right-center to start the inning.
The Tigers secured the win by run-rule in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring three times on two hits. Roth led off with a single and moved to third after an error on a fielder's choice by Hudson, putting runners on the corners. A wild pitch plated Roth, and two batters later, Lindsey Muller ended the game with her second home run of the season, sending a 2-2 pitch over the wall in center field.
Fleming, Roth and Muller each homered and drove in a pair, while Fleming and Roth had two hits apiece. Thomas allowed just a leadoff single and faced only two batters over the minimum, as she struck out eight to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Missouri returns to action against these same two squads tomorrow afternoon, beginning with Alcorn State at noon. The Tigers will then take on Boise State at 3 p.m.
