COLUMBIA - Missouri softball junior Amanda Sanchez is out for the season after suffering an ulnar collateral ligament sprain in her left elbow in the Tigers' loss to Ohio State on Friday.

The timetable for her return is uncertain, a team spokesperson said Tuesday.

The injury, to her non-throwing arm, occurred in a slide at home plate.

Sanchez had already missed Missouri's first 11 games as the university reviewed her eligibility. She was batting .308 with three homers and six RBI.
