Mizzou Sweeps to 5-0 Record
COLUMBIA - The Mizzou Woman's Basketball team defeated Wright State 92-62. This victory makes the Tigers 5-0 for the first time sinse the '97-'98 season.
The entire bench participated in the victory in which senior Christine Flores lead in scoring with 26 points although playing a mere 21 minutes. Kyley Simmons and Bree Fowler, both freshmen also scored career highs.
After a hard fought first half, the Mizzou Woman lead 39-37. During the first half, the Tigers went on a 17-8 scoring run pushing them to lead by 12 points. They also held the Wright State Raiders to only 8 points in the paint compared to Mizzou's 16. Kyley Simmons lead the team with 8 points surpassing her career high of 6 and BreAnna Brock had three of the five Mizzou blocks while Wright State remained blockless.
A three pointer by Flores during the first minutes of the second half began a Tiger scoring terror that would end with a 23 point lead. Missouri ended the game with a 92-62 lead.
The Missouri Woman's Basketball Team will continue their season on December 3rd when the play Northwestern at Mizzou Arena. This game continues the Big 10/Big 12 Challenge.
