Mizzou Swimming & Diving Start Season Off with Big 12 Honors

IRVING, TX - Missouri's Igor Kozlovskij and Loren Figueroa received Big 12 swimming and diving weekly honors for their competitions this weekend. In the first set of awards for the 2011-2012 season Kozlovskij was named Men's Swimmer of the Week while Figueroa received the honor of being Women's Diver of the Week.

Kozlovskij racked up a first, second and third place finish earlier this month at the Show-Me Showdown. The freshman swam to victory in the 150-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:30.50. He placed second in the 300-yard individual medley completing the race in 2:59.05. His time of 41.83 in the 75-yard breaststroke was good for third place.

Sophomore diver Figueroa earned first place in the one-meter event at the Show-Me Showdown with a score of 326.50 and also claimed second in the three-meter event by racking up 263.00 points.

This is the first career recognition for Kozlovskij and the fourth award for Figueroa. Texas's Karlee Bispo received the other honor being named Women's Swimmer of the week. The award marked the seventh for Bispo.
