Mo. Agriculture Dept. Decides Animal Health Rules
JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Department of Agriculture announced Friday it had finalized new regulations on the care of dogs in the state.
The Dept. of Agriculture's requirements make dog breeders give pets access to clean, drinkable water and double the size of enclosures by 2012.
The new rules also specify certain types of enclosure flooring breeders can use.
Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon had a budget item giving $1.1 million to further animal care in the state passed by the General Assembly earlier this year.
