Moberly Parks & Recreation Announces Grand Opening

MOBERLY - Moberly Parks and Recreation held the grand opening of the West 43 Wilderness Area on Wednesday. The area will be a designated wilderness area where people can go hiking and horseback riding. The property is located south of the Howard Hills Athletic Complex and will stay open from sunrise to sunset.
A number of officials attended the grand opening including the mayor and Chamber of Commerce. A number of local horseback riders also attended the event. The area took a year and a half to clear out and Director of Parks and Recreation Troy Bock said he thinks it is a positive thing for Moberly.
"It will draw people into the community and will offer something for everyone," Bock said.
Future plans involve making a connecting trail from the new property to Rothwell Park. To learn more about the new area click here.
