Moberly Residents Arrested for Drug Possession
MOBERLY - On Thursday afternoon members of the Moberly Police Department and the North Missouri Drug Task Force seized a drugs, paraphernalia, and cash from a Moberly residence. Moberly PD was assisting the Division of Family Services earlier in the day at the residence when officers observed controlled substances in plain view.
Officers then secured the house and residents and applied for a search warrant, which was granted by Associate Circuit Judge Cynthia Suter.
Members of the police department and drug task force seized over two pounds of marijuana, approximately $1,500 in cash, items used in the packaging and sale of controlled substances, methamphetamine paraphernalia, and prescription drugs.
In addition, three children ages 7 months, 2 years and 7 years were taken into protective custody and transferred to the Randolph County Juvenile Officer and the Division of Family Services.
The two residents, a 24 year-old male and 21 year-old female, were arrested and charged with distribution, delivery and manufacture of a controlled substance, keeping or maintaining a public nuissance, and endangering the welfare of a child. The bond was set at $45,000, and both subjects both posted bond and were released.
Formal charges have not been filed yet, so the names and photographs of those who were arrested are not being released.
