COLUMBIA - A broken controller backed up traffic at the intersection of Broadway and Stadium in Columbia. As a result, the light flashed instead of cycling as it normally would. Comments on our Facebook page said the light began blinking yesterday, but Sally Oxenhandler with the Missouri Department of Transportation said she wasn't sure when the controller broke.
Viewers told us the malfunctioning part backed up traffic all of the way to the I-70 interchange.
Oxenhandler said a crew replaced the controller Monday morning.
