Moniteau County deputies search for, locate wanted fugitive
MONITEAU COUNTY - Moniteau County sheriff's deputies arrested a wanted fugitive Wednesday after he left the residence where deputies went to locate him.
The Moniteau County Sheriff's Office said Steven Fairfax Jr., of Bunceton, left in a vehicle across some fields after deputies attempted to locate him on Round Hill Road just north of Tipton.
Deputies said Fairfax then left the vehicle and began running on foot before they caught him and took him into custody.
K-9 Mizzou then searched the area where Fairfax fled and found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia that deputies said Fairfax tried to hide.
He was taken to the Moniteau County Jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest by fleeing.
