More Tourism Money Could Help Lake Business
While businesses at the Lake of the Ozarks are excited to hear about the increase in funds, they do have some concerns about where the money is going.
One restaurant manager hopes there will be a trickle-down effect from the money, so the money will be going to all parts of the state, including the Lake of the Ozarks.
"In general, if we can get more people to come down here to enjoy the lake, then they bring more friends, and that helps all the businesses in the area together," said Barron Allen of Ruthie D's.
Allen said he would also like the money to go to advertising for the lake to say it's open year-round, and it's a great place during the winter as well.
If Blunt's proposal is approved, it will add more than $3 million to Missouri's tourism budget.
