BOONE COUNTY - Nearly 2,000 Boone Electric Cooperative customers were without power Wednesday morning around 7 a.m. after an early morning severe thunderstorm rolled through the area. Boone Electric said crews are currently working to restore power and asks its customers to be patient.
The City of Columbia is also reporting power outages. According to Columbia Water and Light, around 17 customers are without power as of 9 a.m. Wednesday. 839 customers were orginally affected by outages in Columbia. The outages are scattered in all portions of town. You can view a map of the outages by clicking here.
Columbia Water and Light posted this on its Facebook page Wednesday morning, "The sheer number of separate outage areas means that it may be some time before crews can reach your neighborhood."
