KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Police say a mother and daughter were shot to death inside the mother's home in Kansas City. Two young children at the home were not injured.
One of the victims of Thursday's shooting was 35-year-old Naushay Riley, a public health specialist with the Kansas City Health Department. The name of the 54-year-old mother was not released.
Police say someone broke into the home overnight and killed the women as Riley's children, ages 2 and 9, slept. Investigators believe the killings were related to domestic violence.
The Kansas City Star reports that Riley's ex-boyfriend called a family member and told her about the killings. The family member called police.
Investigators are searching for the ex-boyfriend.
