Motorcyclist dies after hitting Missouri highway truck
KANSAS CITY (AP) - A motorcyclist died after colliding with a Missouri highway maintenance truck in Kansas City.
The motorcyclist died around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Missouri Department of Transportation spokesman Markl Johnson said the truck was part of a moving operation and was on Interstate 435's left shoulder following mowers working in the median.
Kansas City police accident investigator Sgt. Deb Randol said there were three department trucks in the mowing operation.
According to Randol, witnesses said the motorcyclist moved into the middle lane from the far left lane as the motorcycle approached the first truck, and then switched back. Randol said witnesses reported the motorcyclist repeated the same maneuver for the second truck but not the third truck, which it struck.
