COLUMBIA — A former MU basketball player will be providing lunch Thursday for students who attend Cedar Ridge Elementary.
On behalf of Kim English, who was drafted by the Detroit Pistons, Mr. Goodcents will deliver and serve 200 sub sandwiches to the Cedar Ridge children.
English tweeted about his desire to provide lunch for some students, and the PTA president at Cedar Ridge tweeted back stating that English should provide lunch for the school.
This is also not the first time English has used Twitter to inspire change. KOMU 8 Sports reported his tweets persuaded the mayor of his hometown, Baltimore, to repair a local park last summer.
Mr. Goodcents and English are now working together on a marketing project, which is expected to provide lunches to a group of students in Columbia Public Schools.
