MU Baseball's Day Off
"We didn't get hits because we didn't have good at bats and guys swung at pitches that they couldn't hit in non two strike counts which means you have better options to choose from," Missouri Head Coach Tim Jamieson said.
"Didn't get the hit like you said when we needed it but I guess we can save those up for this weekend," Missouri centerfielder Evan Frey said.
Mizzou stranded 14 runners leaving them loaded in the 5 and 7 inning. The Tigers also didn't take advantage of five Oklahoma errors.
"Just anytime you have a game that means a lot and you don't win its frustrating and you try and figure out why you didn't win it. They certainly gave us opportunities and that part of the reason why we had chances to score runs," Jamieson said.
On the positive side Missouri stayed patient at the plate and drew 8 walks in the game.
"We can go out there and get the job done against any team in the country so we go out there and play our hardest like we need to do and should do and we feel like we can win any ballgame we're in," Missouri catcher Trevor Coleman said.
"We got teams that are they gotta win this thing to get in so it's important to get some wins and keep the momentum rolling," Frey said.
