MU Graduates Celebrate at "Senior Send-Off"
COLUMBIA - About 2,000 MU seniors gathered on MU's Francis Quadrangle Friday afternoon to celebrate the end of their college careers.
At the traditional "Senior Send-Off," students walked from the columns away from the school,
symbolizing their entrances into the community.
"This is kind of the end of it all," said MU senior Kelsey Klostermeyer.
As freshman, many of these students gathered on the other side of the columns for the Tiger Walk ceremony where they walked toward Jesse Hall to mark the beginning of their college journeys.
"I was here for Tiger Walk my freshman year and it was a completely emotional experience because I knew that in four years I would be a completely changed person," said MU senior Ellen Drake.
After the walk, students headed to the Carnahan Quadrangle for food, drinks and live music.
Graduation ceremonies for the class of 2011 will be held next weekend.
