MU Homecoming Blood Drive
Organizers of the drive said they hope to collect 3,600 units of blood this year. Each person who gives one until can save up to three lives. If calculations are correct, blood donors from the drive could save over 10,000 lives.
Anyone 17 or older can donate blood; however, there are some restrictions.
Students are the main source of donations at this blood drive, although organizers said they are trying hard to get more community members to donate blood this year.
"Donating blood actually helps save lives, and that is the biggest thing we want to promote," said Dan Kuhlmann of the homecoming steering committee.
The blood drive donations can be made on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, October 10 the blood drive reached 1,343 donations on a goal of 1,200.
