MU Increases Security After Web Threat
COLUMBIA - MU locked down its Quarterdeck Building Thursday in response to an internet threat. According to University of Missouri Police Chief Jack Watring, the threat was posted by a former employee who was terminated more than a year ago. Watring said the post did not contain any overt threats, but did specifically mention Thursday August 19th.
Employees at the facility had to use key cards to enter the building Thursday and visitors had to call ahead.
The Quarterdeck Building is on Lemone Industrial Boulevard and is an auxiliary location for University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics.
Watring refused to release the name of the individual, what was in the post, or the website where the post was made
