MU Neuroscientists Promote Brain Workouts
COLUMBIA (AP) - Shoppers at the Columbia Mall will be able to stimulate their brains as well as indulge in the usual retail therapy at a Friday event promoting brain awareness.
University of Missouri neuroscience students are teaming up with Phoenix Programs, a substance abuse treatment center, to host "conversation stations" at the mall from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
It's part of an international effort known as Brain Awareness Week coordinated by the nonprofit Dana Foundation, a New York philanthropic group that promotes brain research.
