COLUMBIA - MU scientists have received a five year, $5.5 million gift from the Sidney Kimmel Foundation to look for new energy sources.

Sidney Kimmel is the founder of The Jones Group, a designing and marketing company. The donation is supposed to create the Sidney Kimmel Institute for Nuclear Renaissance. The scientists there will review the different forms of renewable energy.

The gift is believed to be one of the largest energy funds in the country. Another building that's supposed to be added is the MU Research Reactor.
