Mud Flies at Charity "Mudball" Tournament
BOONE COUNTY -- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Missouri hosted a mud volleyball tournament at MU's Bradford Farms Research and Extension Center Saturday in an effort to raise awareness for the organization. The group partners children in need of mentors with responsible adults, creating a one-on-one relationship.
Recruitment coordinator Ryan Olson said the organization has hosted the tournament for five years now, but he said this is the first year at the Bradford Farms location.
The tournament, which includes eight teams in a double-elimination format, began just before 8:45 Saturday morning and ran through the afternoon. Olson said winners will receive prizes from local sponsors.
