MUPD Releases picture of knife used in murder
Someone stabbed him multiple times and left him in the burning trunk of his car. MUPD said that they have been working on the case for nine months, taking statements from witnesses trying to understand what vehicles were in the garage on January 7.
"It's an 80's model Ford F-150 pickup, red in color, with the drivers side door being a faded black, possible damage to the front bumper, and the rear quarter panel on the driver's side," MU Police spokesperson Biran Weimer said.
Police have spent months looking for a slender white male, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall with brown wavy or curly hair. He may have been wearing a painter's mask, baggy faded jeans, a red sweatshirt, and a blue winter coat on January 7. Now they say there may be an additional person, a suspect who may have burned or cut hands. Im's friends say they're disappointed by the speed of the investigation.
Weimer admits that it has been slow-going.
"It's taken longer than we'd like, in the fact of the quicker, the better, we'd like to solve it," Weimer said.
To help, MUPD has released a picture of the knife used in the murder. Officers say they'd like to know about anyone with burned or cut hands after January 7. MU has raised the reward for information in the case to $25,000. Anyone with information about the case can call Sergeant Shawn Spalding at 573-882-5928.
